The American Alpine Journal

Published since 1929, The American Alpine Journal is the premiere annual record of significant mountaineering and rock climbing ascents worldwide. American Alpine Club members receive The 500-page American Alpine Journal, which has a retail price of $35, free with membership. The current edition of the book is available in many bookstores, climbing shops, or can be ordered directly from The Mountaineers Books by calling 800.553.4453. Back issues for many years also are available.

The AAC has produced three comprehensive indexes for the AAJ, which allow individuals to locate reports of climbs based on region, country, climber, and peak name. Paperbound editions of the index for the years 1929-1976 and 1977-1986 are available for purchase through The Mountaineers Books, a PDF version for the years 1987-1996 is available by clicking on AAJ Index.
