Grand Teton Climbers' Ranch

Located a mere three miles south of Jenny Lake and four miles north of the Park Headquarters in Moose, the Grand Teton Climbers' Ranch offers the most affordable and accessible lodging for individuals who have registered to climb in Grand Teton National Park. Formerly the Double Diamond Ranch, the AAC was granted a concessionaire's permit in 1970 to operate the Climbers' Ranch to provide mountaineers and their families with overnight accommodations without the congestion and time limitations of public campgrounds.

Dates of Operation - The Climbers' Ranch is usually open from the middle of June through the middle of September.

Accommodations - The Climbers' Ranch offers dormitory-style accommodations in small log cabins that sleep 4-8 people each. The Ranch contains a cook shelter (including dish and pot washing facilities), toilet facilities and hot showers, a small mountaineering library and lounge, and limited storage space. Climbers must supply their own sleeping bags, pads, cooking equipment, food, towels, and other personal gear. To minimize impact on the surrounding environment, tent and trailer camping is not available at the Climbers' Ranch.

Fees - Lodging at the Climbers Ranch is $8 per night (with a $20 non-refundable reservation fee) for both AAC members and non-members.

Reservations - Lodging is on a first come, first serve basis, although a limited number of pre-paid reservations are accepted. Call after June 1 for information.

Climbers Ranch Work Week - Because many Ranch buildings were constructed in the 1920s and 1930s, maintenance work and capital improvements are on-going concerns. To help stretch our limited budget, the Climbers' Ranch hosts an annual work week early in the season, usually in early to mid-June. In return for providing volunteer labor, climbers receive free lodging through the end of June and a party at the end of the Work Week. While knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, roofing, and other construction trades is advantageous, we can make use of anyone, no matter what skills he or she possesses.
