Membership dues vary based on a member's age. Joint memberships cover both members with rescue insurance, but provide only one set of publications.

Members who join The American Alpine Club on or after August 1st in any calendar year will receive their complimentary editions of The American Alpine Journal and Accidents in North American Mountaineering the following year. For example, members who join between August 1, 2002 and July 31, 2003 will receive the 2003 issues of the AAJ and ANAM in the fall of 2003.
