The American Alpine Club brings people
together with likeminded climbers, climbing
legends, and other who are passionate about our
sport and the need to preserve it.
 |
Members
We strive to provide our members with a
broad array of helpful benefits that
allow you more and better access to
alpine environments. We are also a
policy voice for you, speaking out for
the climbing community from the
backcountry to the backrooms of
Congress. |
 |
Events
Ongoing activities include grassroots
projects at various rock climbing areas,
annual meetings, regional events, and
other climber gatherings. |
 |
Sections
AAC members belong to one of 14
geographic sections, each of which has
their own chair and events. Sections are
a great way to get involved in local
issues and meet members in your area. |
 |
Expedition Support
A function of the American Alpine Club
is to encourage and support American
mountaineering expeditions. The Club
provides: information and advice,
endorsement of expeditions, loans to
expeditions and individuals, and
sponsorship of expeditions. |
 |
Ranches & Huts
The AAC maintains the Grand Teton
Climbers' Ranch, which provides rustic
cabins for climbers in Grand Teton
National Park. Discounts on other U.S.
huts are also available to members, as
are the hut stamps for discounts on
European huts. |
 |
Corporate Partners
The generous financial donations of
these companies support The American
Alpine Club's efforts to protect
climbing access and preserve our
nation's alpine areas. |
